Michelle Mead graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney (BA Visual Communication), then studied writing, acting and directing in Sydney and London, with various tutors.

She now works as a copywriter for various corporate clients and multimedia companies.

Comissioned by the University of Southern Queensland to write a collection of 16 showreel scenes for their 2005 graduating drama class, she also recently co-wrote “Tightrope”, a  40 min short film to promote road safety, supported by QLD Police Service and RACQ (due for 2006 release in QLD highschools).

“Playing with Piranhas” is Michelle’s first feature film as both writer and director.
